Employee monitoring software
Employee Monitoring Software Built for Workforce Intelligence
SmarterMetric AI gives organizations a policy-controlled view of how work happens on company devices — observed activity, application usage and device status — so you gain visibility without turning monitoring into surveillance.
Why organizations look for employee monitoring software
Most teams are not looking for more control. They are looking for reliable answers to operational questions.
- Hybrid and remote work make it harder to see how work is distributed across teams.
- Decisions about staffing, tools and processes are often based on impressions rather than data.
- IT needs to know which company devices are enrolled, assigned and actually reporting.
- Legal, works council and HR stakeholders expect monitoring to be purposeful, documented and proportionate.
Monitoring that starts with purpose and policy
In SmarterMetric AI nothing is collected by default. Administrators define the purpose of collection and publish policies for the organization, a location, a department, a team, an employee or a single device. Each device collects only what its effective policy allows; if no policy applies, or policies conflict, collection stops.
The result is organizational analytics rather than a stream of raw content: observed active and idle time, the applications and website domains that are part of daily work, and the status of every managed device — visible only to people with the right permissions and scope.
What the platform provides
Observed activity
Active and idle time recorded as state changes and summarized per day and period in the organization's time zone.
Application and website usage
Executable names and website domains from bounded usage intervals — no window titles, full URLs or document names.
Device visibility
Enrollment, assignment, reporting status and agent version for every managed Windows device.
Scoped access
Managers see only the departments and teams they are responsible for; viewing sensitive content requires its own permission.
Responsible monitoring by design
Employee monitoring is only acceptable when it is transparent and limited. SmarterMetric AI builds these limits into the product instead of leaving them to configuration habits.
See how SmarterMetric AI approaches security and privacy- The Windows agent is visible and can be stopped and uninstalled by authorized administrators.
- Privacy exclusions for applications and domains are applied on the device before any data is created.
- Screenshots are disabled by default and only available when a policy explicitly enables them.
- Keystrokes, clipboard, email, chat and file contents are not collected.
How it works
Define purpose and policy
Set up your organization structure, describe why data is collected and publish the policy that applies to each scope.
Enroll company devices
Install the Windows agent with a single-use enrollment package; each device receives its own cryptographic identity.
Review organizational insight
Explore activity, application and device views within the access scope each role permits.
Who uses it
IT teams
Keep track of which company computers are enrolled, assigned and reporting, and revoke a device's trust when needed.
Operations
See how work is distributed across teams and where workload or tooling creates friction.
HR and people teams
Use workforce signals as one documented input for organizational analysis — not as an automated judgement of individuals.
Frequently asked questions
Is SmarterMetric AI employee monitoring software?
Yes, in the sense that it observes authorized work signals on company devices. Its focus is workforce analytics: patterns across teams, applications and devices rather than minute-by-minute surveillance of individuals.
What data does SmarterMetric AI collect?
Only what the published policy for a device's scope allows. Depending on policy this can include active and idle state changes, executable names, website domains and device status. Screenshots are off by default.
Does it record keystrokes, the webcam or the microphone?
No. SmarterMetric AI does not collect keystrokes, clipboard contents, webcam or microphone data, or email and file contents.
Can employees see that the agent is installed?
The agent is installed as a visible Windows service and appears in the list of installed apps. Authorized administrators can stop and uninstall it. Informing employees is part of each organization's own rollout and notice process.
Which operating systems are supported?
The Windows agent is available for Windows 10 (1809+) and Windows Server 2019+ (x64). macOS and Linux agents are planned.
